Itinerary

DAY 01 (AIRPORT – CHILAW – NEGOMBO)
Arrival to Sri Lanka! You will be met by our Representative, later will visit the Manavari & Munneshwaram Temples in Chilaw.
After completion will return to the Hotel. Dinner & overnight stay in Negombo (D)
Manavari Temple - Manavari is the first lingam installed and prayed by Lord Rama and till date this lingam is called as Ramalinga Shivan. Rameshwaram is the only other lingam in the world named after Lord Rama.
Munneshwaram Temple - Lord Rama after his victorious battle left for Ayodhya in one of King Ravana’s Vimanas. He felt he was being followed by Bramahathi Dosham as he killed King Ravana who was a Brahmin. He stopped the Vimana at this juncture because he felt at this place the “Bramahathi Dosham” was not following him. He discended from the Vimana and asked God Shiva for a remedy. God Shiva blessed Lord Rama and advised him to install and pray four lingams in Manavari, Thirukoneshwaram, Thiruketheeswaram and Rameshwaram in India, as the only remedy to get rid of the
DAY 02 (NEGOMBO – TRINCOMALEE)
After early breakfast will restfully drive to Trincomalee, upon arrival will visit the Kanniya Ravana Water well, Shankari Devi Shakthi Peetam Temple, start ChandiHomam Agni Pooja Ceremony, visit Trirukoneshwaram Temple, visit MahaKalai Amman Temple, Luxmi Narayana Temple, evening return back to the hotel or enjoy a walk in the beautiful Nilaveli Beach. Dinner & overnight stay in Trincomalee. (B,D).

Kanniya Ravana water wells - Kanniya’s origin is that this is the place where King Ravana carried out the last rites for his mother. When he was unable to find water to duly perform the rites, his anger pierced his Trishula into the ground seven times. Water started gushing out immediately. The very hot water cooled down to the present degree when Ravana’s anger calmed down. The temperature of the water is different one to another..

Thirukoneshvaram Temple - is a wonderful temple located on a rock promontory in Trincomalee. It was built by Rishi Agastya on the instructions of Lord Shiva who was impressed by the devotion of King Ravana. This place is unique in this respect because the Lord built a temple for his devotee as a reward for his devotion. Lord Rama is believed to have offered his prayers here too, in order to get rid of the malediction of killing Ravana who was a Brahmin, meaning BrahmahasthiDosham. The famous temple built here during the glorious era of the Tamil Pallava and Chola and Pandya empires, was destroyed by bigoted Portuguese Christians between 1622 and 1624..

Shankari Devi Shakthi Pitham - Adjacent to Trincomalee's famous Koneswaram temple there is another shrine; it is small in size but of some significance for Hindu pilgrims. This Shankari Devi temple was reconstructed in a new place. The original Shankari Devi temple said to be built by Ravana, was the first in the list of AshtaDasha (18) Shakti Pitas written down by Adi Shankara. But its whole cliff was destroyed by Portuguese cannon balls. Only a pillar for commemoration is placed on that spot now. And it is believed that the original idol of the Goddess has been preserved and replaced, being venerated now in this nearby new Shankari Devi temple.
DAY 03 (TRINCOMALEE - SIGIRIYA - KANDY)
After breakfast proceed to Kandy en-route visiting Sigiriya rock fortress, (visible from the down) , thereafter will visit a Herbal & Spice Garden, taste a delicious cup of herbal tea thereafter visit the Historical Muthumari Amman Temple in Matale. After completion will drive to Kandy upon arrival will visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic and later witness a Traditional Cultural Dance performance. Dinner & overnight stay in Kandy. (B,D)

Sigiriya – Is home to the “5th century Fortress in the Sky” which is the fantastic single wonder of the Island. It is also known as Lion Rock because of the huge lion that used to stand at the entrance to the fortress. Within its triplemoated defense the huge rock rises almost to a sheer height of 600ft. On its summit are the foundations of what was once a great and sumptuous palace and gardens complete with swimming pool. On one of the stairways, the only known ancient work of Sinhalese secular painting which has survived in the form of Frescos of life-sized damsels in all the freshness and delicacy of their original color. DAY 04 (KANDY – NUWARAELIYA)
After breakfast, proceed to Nuwaraeliya. En-route visiting Tea Plantation/factory, Ramboda waterfalls, visit Hanuman Temple, Sita Amman Temple & Ashoka Vatica, Dinner & overnight stay in Nuwaraeliya. (B,D)

Sri Bhaktha Hanuman Temple - As told in the Hindu epic Ramayana, the temple is located on Ramboda hills, the same place where Hanuman came looking for Sita. The Chinmaya Mission built this Hanuman temple at the very site. There is a 5 meters tall granite statue of Rama's devote supporter Hanuman. He is believed to have started his search for Sita in the Baroda hills.

Sita Amman Temple – Legend has it that Goddess Sita bathed in the stream running down from the hill at the village Sita Eliya, where this temple is located. This was the place where Sita used to pray daily for Rama to come and rescue her. Out here, you could also see the gigantic footsteps of Hanuman. A temple for Lord Rama, Seetha Devi, Luxshmana and Hanuman built on the sides of the stream.

Ashok Vanam – The Ashok Vatika is the place where Ravana kept the Sita captive. Ashok Vatika is a garden that is present in the Sita Eliya in Sri Lanka. Some of the interesting findings here include the rock on which Sita used to sat and meditate. Sita Eliya also have the only Site Temple in the world. The idols of Sita was excavated from here 100 years ago.

Gayathree Amman Temple - Gayathri Pitam, also spelled as GayaththriPeedam, is within the Nuwaraeliya town, the first and most significant temple built for Gayathri Amman in Sri Lanka. Gayathri being an aspect of Saraswati and the Universal Mother. The temple was founded by the Gayathri Siddhar Swami Murusegu. The Shiva Lingam for this Tamil temple was brought from the Holy River Narmada. Gayathri Pitam is said to be the place from where King Ravana's son Meghanath propitiated Lord Shiva with penance and worship and in turn was granted supernatural powers by the mighty god.
DAY 05 (NUWARAELIYA)
After breakfast will explore the city of Nuwara Eliya, later visit the Divurompla temple “Sita Devi Agni tested place. Back to Hotel. Dinner & overnight stay in Nuwaraeliya. (B,D)

Divurumpola Temple - Divurumpola means a ‘place of oath’. This is the place where Sita underwent the “Agni” test. She came unscathed and proved her innocence and purity. The message of Rama’s victory over Ravana was sent to Sita. After a bath and adorned with jewels she was taken on a palanquin before Rama. Continuing the practice for thousands of years, villagers still pledge their fidelity or take oaths there and even in certain courts, this agreement was binding. This place has been respected and worshipped by people down the ages.
DAY 06 - (NUWARAELIYA –ELLA – KATARAGAMA)
After breakfast will checkout and drive you towards the Beautiful city of Ella and explore this city which has a rich history of Raavana, enroute visit the Ravana Falls. (Ravana Caves will be done only if clients require as it is a trek). After completion will drive to Kataragama. Dinner & overnight stay in Kataragama. (B,D)

Ella (Ravana Falls & Caves) - Ravana Ella Cave is where Ravana was hiding Sita. Ravana Ella Cave located at the massive Ella Falls; a breath-taking 1080 feet high waterfall that cascades into several falls. The rocky undergoes of the waterfall is Khondalite, a kind of limestone which undergoes faster decay as hard gneiss or granite. This has resulted in many caves being formed near the falls. King Ravana is said to have lived in one of the caves above the waterfall. A nearby pool bored out of the rock by the gushing waters is where Sita is said to have bathed Ravana.

Kataragama temple - This is the temple of Lord Karthikeya Subramaniam at Kataragama. Lord Karthikeya was requested to go to the battlefield by Lord Indra on the last day of war. This was done to protect Lord Rama from the wrath of Brahmasthra aimed by King Ravana which otherwise would have weakened Lord Rama. The benefit was one of the most powerful weapon brahma asthra aimed at Lord Rama for the second time was rendered useless by the presence of Lord Karthikeya.
DAY 07 – (KATARAGAMA – BENTOTA)
After breakfast will drive you to the Southern Beach of Bentota enroute will visit the site of Ussangoda, after completion will coniue our journey and take part in a Boat Safari in the Madu river. Dinner & overnight stay in Bentota. (B,D)

Ussangoda - According to Ramayana, after meeting Seetha Devi Lord Hanuman decided to test the strength of the mighty King Ravana and his army of Rakshasas. In the event that unfolded Lord Hanuman's tail was set on fire by the Rakshasas, who in turn went on to torch some parts of King Ravana's empire. Ussangoda is one of the torched areas, which is said to have been an airport used by King Ravana.
DAY 08 - (BENTOTA – COLOMBO)
After breakfast will drive you to the Commercial capital of Colombo. Enroute will visit the Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya (Vibhishan Place). After completion will visit the Anjenyar Temple in Colombo, Later will explore the city with a City & Shopping tour. Dinner & ovenight stay in Colombo. (B,D)

Vibhishana Palace - Besides the famous Buddhist temple is a Vibhishana shrine in Kelaniya. After Ravana's death Rama appointed Vibhishana as the new king of Lanka. Vibhishana is venerated by Sinhalese Buddhists as a god, they believe him to be one of the main protectors of the island, of the western territories in particular.

Anjaneyar Temple - This is the first Anjaneyar Temple in Sri Lanka and the only Panchamuga (five faced) Anjaneyar Temple in Sri Lanka. It’s the only temple in the world to have a chariot for Anjaneyar.
DAY 09 - ( DEPARTUTRE)
Breakfast at Hotel. Later will proceed to the airport in time for the departure flight leaving Sri Lanka with beautiful memories. (B)
